About Me

Who I Am

I'm a recent graduate from Florida State University where I studied Management Information Systems and Marketing. I am currently a Cross-Functional Assistant at Prolydian, where I help optimize workflows and work across multiple departments in their day-to-day responsibilities. I also recently got accepted to participate in the Disney College Program, where I will be assisting in the day-to-day operations at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.

My Background

When I arrived at Florida State, I was unsure of what I wanted to major in. In the end, I chose marketing, as I believed it would provide me with many opportunities to learn valuable soft skills and allow me to be versatile across multiple industries. However, everything changed for me when I had a meeting with one of my teachers; he asked me about myself, why I chose to go to FSU, and why I chose marketing. I told him how I had considered computer science prior to choosing marketing, to which he told me to look at MIS. That afternoon, I added MIS as a second major.

In my time at FSU, I learned many valuable skills throughout my curriculum. I learned how to work with a team in a professional setting and understood what went into a successful group of students coming together. I learned the fundamentals of data analysis using Excel and how to apply Excel in real-world adjacent projects and scenarios, as we created both a college-fit matching tool and a fully functional relational database for a fictional company. I also learned how to discover marketing insights using SPSS for data analysis, as well as how to work in an agile environment and use project management tools to complete deliverables.

In addition to my time at FSU, I began interning at Prolydian, working with their Sales & Marketing team, specifically helping with content creation for LinkedIn. Over the course of a few months, I began to grow into more responsibilities and new technologies. I started working with our CRM software, Pipedrive, where I helped build email automations and communications for client outreach, as well as updating our records. I also conducted marketing research, performed QA tests, and worked with our enterprise clients as a point of contact to ensure their programs were running smoothly.

What I'm Working Toward

Even though I am no longer enrolled in classes at FSU, I will always be a student, wanting to grow and further my skills so I can be the best professional I can be. In recent weeks, I'm learning front-end web development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as exploring languages to further develop my analytical skills and pursue my goal of becoming a data analyst by practicing my Excel and SQL skills and learning Python and R. I also plan on learning more programming languages, exploring back-end development, and becoming proficient with data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
